Swamp blues and slide guitar are 8 Ball Aitken's signature, and he's taken them to twenty countries. He sings, writes, plays and produces, working across blues, country, soul and rock, and the slide technique is what people remember. He's been based in Nashville since 2012, collaborating with players at the top of the game, and placed second at the 2021 International New Orleans Cigar Box Guitar Festival, which says something about how far he's willing to push traditional instruments. Polished but gritty, and made to headline a festival or a venue rather than fill a corner of one.
