About this act
Every piece Lucy plays is memorised, which means no music stand and no fixed spot. She can rove through a venue on accordion, tap a foot tambourine and hold a conversation mid-tune. Her repertoire crosses Parisian bal-musette, European polkas, German drinking songs, Italian tarantellas, Irish jigs and reels, Argentine tango and Christmas favourites, with costumes to match, from dirndls to full French dress with beret. She's a regular at Melbourne's Queen Victoria Market, plays annual events for Alliance Francaise in Geelong and Melbourne, and has appeared on Sunrise and ABC's The Piano. At weddings she covers the whole day, soft pieces for the ceremony through to a group tarantella after dinner. Public liability insurance is held.
