Afternoon Jazz Collective is a jazz band from Brisbane, Queensland.
Four Conservatorium students founded Brisbane's Afternoon Jazz Collective in 2009, with a lineup featuring Tamara O'Callaghan on vocals, Ben Knibb on saxophone, Nick Hunter on keys and BJ Perry on upright bass. The band is built for smaller and medium-sized functions, where an intimate sound sits better than a large stage show. Classic ballads make up part of the set, among them Autumn Leaves, Fly Me to the Moon, Blue Moon, Night and Day and My Funny Valentine, moving between swing and softer pop-jazz depending on the room.
