Fifteen years of gigging around Tasmania sits behind Alex Hutchins Music, a run that covers pubs, bars, restaurants, wineries and private functions. Guitar and vocals carry the core acoustic set, drawing on a wide mix of well known artists from older classics through to modern favourites, and the set list shifts in real time depending on the room: laid back for a dining crowd, more upbeat for a pub session, or built around singalongs when the energy calls for it. DJ work followed the live performances, driven mainly by demand from weddings and private events, and Alex has now DJed more than ten weddings alongside a range of private functions. That combination, an acoustic duo option plus DJ sets, lets one booking move from dinner music into a dancefloor set without bringing in a second act.
