Alex Beattie came from the UK to Sydney and brought a particular combination with him: the soulful grooves of disco laid over the rolling rhythms of minimal house. The dance floor stays moving because the momentum never really drops. He has an ear for the big anthems and the underground records nobody else is playing, and a set works its way through both.
