Bossa nova, samba and jazz standards on saxophone, played with a light touch that suits ceremonies and long lunches. Dr Alfredo Lopes is a professional saxophonist, composer and educator with more than 30 years behind the instrument, and Brazilian jazz is his speciality. A set might move from The Girl From Ipanema to Fly Me to the Moon to La Vie en rose, all easy on the ears. He's based in Byron Bay and plays across Brisbane, Sydney, the Gold Coast and the Tweed Coast. Book him solo, or as a duo or trio; sets run 45 minutes, and the setup is minimal, just access to power for his amp and laptop.
