Alma Latina means Latin Soul, a fitting name for 6 musicians brought together by their connection to Latin music. Hugo Alvarez and Valerio Fiorini play guitar, with Valerio also on percussion. Cathie Travers adds accordion, Brenda Lee sings, Sarah Clare plays acoustic bass and Iain Robbie completes the percussion line-up. The Gardenias del Amor show draws from Buena Vista Social Club, Omara Portuondo and Gypsy Kings, alongside Latin standards such as Dos Gardenias, Besame Mucho, Bamboleo and Quizas, Quizas, Quizas. The result is a full ensemble treatment of songs from across the Latin songbook.
