Animal Ventura is the project of Fernando Aragones, a Brazilian born, Byron Bay based singer-songwriter. The funky rhythms he grew up with in South America get fused with the coastal indie folk of this shoreline, and the vocals move between English and Portuguese without losing any of their weight. Soothing is the word people reach for, though there's real strength in the delivery. Distinctive, and very hard to compare to anything else on a line-up.
