Anukara Tribal Bellydancers is a belly dancer from Brisbane, Queensland.
Three performers make up Anukara: tribal master teachers Dee Thomson and Fiona MacPherson, joined by Melle Dixon from 2016. The Brisbane trio builds a tribal bellydance show around swords, silk veils, fans, decorative tribal baskets, zils and flags, with fire available on request for the right venue. A live Middle Eastern duo can be added for events wanting music alongside the dance, and the soundtrack itself is put together around what each booking needs . The performers are founding members of the Silk Road Tribal Collective, created for the 2015 to 2016 Woodford Folk Festival. Extra performers can join a booking where a larger show is wanted.
