About this act
Two violins and nothing else is an unusual thing to hear, even inside classical music. Ashley Arbuckle and Richard Price formed ARCO to explore that repertoire properly, working either with their own backing tracks for smaller functions or alongside ElectriClassics, a string ensemble of around 14 players that can be scaled up when a venue calls for it. Both came up through international classical careers, and both share a genuine appetite for jazz and rock, so the programmes reach well past the obvious. Arco, in musical terms, means bow.
