Between them, the two musicians in August West have played more than 500 gigs, and it shows in the small things: arriving up to an hour and a half early to soundcheck, carrying a battery powered rig for ceremony spots with no power, bringing their own lighting. The Brisbane duo's songbook runs from the 50s to now, Folsom Prison Blues and Fly Me to the Moon through to Flowers and Budapest, downbeat or upbeat as the moment asks. For weddings they'll cover the ceremony, canapés and reception, and they'll learn your aisle or first dance song if they don't already know it. Venues, parties and corporate events sit just as easily in their week.
