Rhythm guitar, fingerstyle lead and the push of an upright bass. Avalon Swing play acoustic swing and gypsy jazz around Brisbane as a duo, trio or quartet, with a five piece option that adds an electronic wind instrument. The repertoire moves between the American songbook and French cafe standards, some of them sung in both English and French: La Vie En Rose, C'est Si Bon, Jardin D'Hiver, Dream A Little Dream, Blue Moon, Pennies From Heaven. Instrumentals draw on Django Reinhardt and Benny Goodman. They've played venues and festivals across Australia and New Zealand. Power for a PA and three amps is ideal, though the duo carries battery-powered busking amps when there's no outlet. Insured.
