AYCE opens a Sydney function with quiet acoustic guitar and voice, builds it out with backing tracks and a stomp box until it sounds like a full band, then finishes the evening in DJ mode with the strobe going and the PA pushing. It's a format built for weddings, where the ceremony, the dinner and the dance floor all want something different from the same act.
