Barry Leef started as a rhythm guitarist and singer around Blenheim in New Zealand, then formed Simple Image in Wellington, who took Spinning, Spinning, Spinning to number one. He crossed to Sydney for club and festival work, toured with Bakery and Supermarket, and eventually formed The Barry Leef Band, the house band at The Sydney Musicians Club for years. Studio work made him one of Sydney's best known advertising voices across three decades. He has represented Australia at song and music festivals worldwide, sharing stages with Frank Zappa, Tom Jones and George Duke. For close to twenty years his 70s classic and West Coast rock show has stayed in demand. His album Rhythmized, produced by Kere Buchanan, has been picked up by smooth jazz radio internationally.
