World fusion is the short description, and it covers a lot of ground: fiery flamenco, cool jazz, and Indian rhythms that roll along underneath. Bart Stenhouse plays electric and flamenco guitar plus electric mandolin, and writes for all three. Travels through North America, India and Spain shaped the direction, and he collaborates with artists overseas rather than borrowing the surface of their music. He produces and releases his own work on Stenhouse Records, starting with the 2014 album Blue Benares, and in 2017 toured Australia with German gypsy guitar virtuoso Lulo Reinhardt to sold out rooms. At the 2016 India International Guitar Festival, Grammy nominated slide guitarist Pandit Debashish Bhattacharya called him one of the best up and coming jazz fusion artists around.
