Batuka

Batuka started life in the 1980s as Grupo Amigos, and the band playing today is largely the sons of those original members carrying the same thing on. The set covers salsa, merengue, cumbia, bachata, reggaeton and Buena Vista style Cuban material, with top 40 and disco in English when the floor needs it. So a Greek or Italian wedding gets looked after as readily as a Latin one. Beyond the band there's an English and Latin DJ service, video DJ, and live congas or timbales played over a DJ set. Batuka bring their own PA, indoors or out, big room or small.
