About this act
Bernadette Mether is a classically trained mezzo-soprano with spinto ability, and an accomplished guitarist besides. Three decades of teaching sit alongside the performing, and the qualifications are serious: a BA and Dip Ed from the University of Melbourne, LMusA from the AMEB, and the LTCL Recital from Trinity College London. She sings classical, jazz and musical theatre, so the same voice handles One Note Samba, The Nearness of You and You'll Never Walk Alone. On the Mornington Peninsula she's musically directed theatre groups, organised local charity events, worked for years as a church cantor and provided the music for weddings and funerals. Access to power is needed, plus a wet weather backup if the event is outdoors.
