Bethany Saunders

Aerial hammock, aerial hoop, ball juggling and dance feature in Bethany Saunders’ work as a Fremantle circus artist, worked solo or as part of an ensemble. Training began in the UK, at Circomedia in Bristol, where a BTEC course led on to the Professional Development course at Aircraft Circus Academy and later a return to Circomedia for the FDA and BA programmes, completed in 2023. The BA studies closed with a UK tour built and performed alongside eleven other artists, a ninety-minute production created from scratch as an ensemble. Manipulation fans and other unconventional props feature throughout the work, alongside choreography built around unexpected moments . Festivals, cabarets, traditional circus, cruise ships and corporate events are among the settings for which she offers performances, with walkabout sets alongside the staged work.
