Bette Middler Tribute

Annemarie fronts this Divine Miss M show, and she plays the comedy as hard as the ballads, which is the point. Plenty of people know the big songs and the films without knowing that a Bette Midler concert was always half stand-up. So the set runs Wind Beneath My Wings, The Rose, From a Distance and Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy alongside the concert comedy numbers, Long John Blues, Fat As I Am and Pretty Legs and Great Big Knockers, with jokes borrowed from Sophie Tucker along the way. Delores Del Lago, the mermaid in the wheelchair, makes her appearance too. Musically it swings between ballads, jazz, big band and rock. Fans of the real thing tend to be the ones who enjoy it most.
