Black Coffee is a jazz band from Hobart, Tasmania.
Jazz, swing and salsa sit alongside soul, pop and rock and roll in Black Coffee’s Hobart repertoire. Keys and organ, bass and vocals, drums and a second vocal make up the core line-up, and the group can grow to five or six players with the addition of saxophone for bigger rooms. Their experience includes Sunday performances at the Queens Head Hotel, weddings and corporate functions, and the sound stays conversational rather than loud unless a room calls for more.
