Black Rheno is a cover band from Sydney, New South Wales.
This Sydney three-piece formed in 2015, mixing stoner rock, grind, punk and metal into a sound that owes as much to rock and roll as it does to anything heavier. Years of steady touring have put the band on the same bill as international heavy hitters including Pantera and EYEHATEGOD, alongside Napalm Death and Red Fang, shared stages that have shaped its place in the Australian heavy scene. Recorded output runs to an EP, Let's Start a Cult, and a full album, Noise Smasher, both carrying the same heaving energy the band brings live. Crowds get a full-blown heavy metal party rather than a restrained set, the three-piece format keeping everything tight.
