Blue Train is a party band from Sydney, New South Wales.
Sydney's Blue Train scales from a soft jazz duo to a twelve-piece stage band, built around musical directors Mervyn Sequeria and David Weir. A smaller line-up works well against dinner and cocktails, built on saxophone and double bass; the full band adds trumpet, trombone, guitar, bass, drums and percussion behind male and female vocals. Repertoire runs wide: soul and Motown staples sit alongside a swing songbook built on Autumn Leaves and other standards, with funk, Latin and blues filled in around them. Formats include duos, trios, quartets, quintets and sextets as well as larger bands.
