Budget Rent A Car grew from a two-person operation into a major national enterprise under Bob Ansett's leadership, introducing employee health and fitness programs ahead of the wider industry. A major airline strike brought serious financial pressure to the company, which was later acquired by Budget America through a joint venture involving Ford, General Motors, Nissan and Toyota. His speaking work covers customer service, marketing and entrepreneurship. After leaving Budget, he established Bob Ansett Marketing Services. Civic roles have included the Melbourne Chamber of Commerce presidency, the Victorian Congress of Employers Association presidency, and the chairmanship of the North Melbourne Football Club.
