Bob Downe is a comedian from New South Wales.
Bob Downe grew out of an earlier cabaret group, The Globos, and was created by Mark Trevorrow. Billed as the Prince of Polyester, the act has since played the Edinburgh Fringe, the Adelaide Cabaret Festival and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, with UK and Australian tours that have taken in P&O cruise ships and a Royal Variety Performance for the Queen. Television credits stretch from an early run on Countdown through to a Studio 10 appearance decades later, taking in the Mike Walsh Show and The Project along the way, and Mark played menswear salesman Darryl in the sitcom Kath & Kim. Away from the character, Mark's broadcasting and journalism work has included stints as a voice on ABC local radio and as one-time host of the ABC series The Way We Were.
