Bomba Latin Fusion formed in Perth in 2016, built around South American members from Peru, Chile and Colombia alongside experienced local players. Miguel leads the band on guitar and vocals, and the percussion players keep the Afro-Cuban tradition intact while pulling it towards modern world music. Underneath sits a rock setup of drums, bass, keys and guitar, with congas, timbales and bongos over the top, plus brass or accordion. Songs are sung in Spanish, English and Portuguese, and the front of the band will address a crowd in either language depending on who is in the room. Expect Latin pop, rock, reggae, roots, dance, funk and soul, taking in Santana, Carlos Vives, Juanes, Daddy Yankee and Mana. It suits festivals, bars, larger venues and parties, and the aim is a full dance floor from the first song.
