Bouba

Boubacar Gaye performs as Bouba, a drummer and teacher based in Melbourne. Membership of Mama Afrika and later the Foret Sacre Ballet shaped his early years on stage, and a move to Europe in 1997 and then Japan established him as an African percussionist working internationally. Solo bookings are available, or a full group of up to five performers combining djembe, conga, dun dun, balafon and dance, with room for up to a hundred people to join in on the drums themselves. School workshops, team building days, birthdays and weddings all fall within the format he offers.
