Bruno The Waiter

A thick Italian accent and a haughty manner are the tools of the trade for Bruno, a roving character built to work a room . Bruno moves through a function in character as an overbearing waiter, breaking the ice between guests who might otherwise stay in their own circles. Song is part of the act too: a backing CD brings out opera numbers and a run of Dean Martin favourites, available alongside spontaneous roving songs, with sing-alongs encouraged rather than watched from a distance. Silver service flambe and improvisation round out the skill set, alongside audience participation worked into the character rather than bolted on afterwards.
