Buzz

A garden of forty hanging flowers, vines, palms and pods forms the backdrop for Buzz in Sydney, staged as an aerial dance built around insect characters rather than performed on a bare rig. The main show follows a bee moving between the flower stalks and meeting other garden characters along the way, set to an original soundtrack, with a cast of three to six performers and a running time of twenty minutes. A smaller companion piece, Little Buzz, pares this back to two aerial tissue artists playing a bug and a bee through a shorter, ten-minute routine of swinging, tumbling and climbing across the same flower installation. Roving performances also let the garden's characters move out among a crowd rather than stay fixed to the aerial rig.
