Camels

Camels features two small rider characters on approximately life-sized camel puppets in Melbourne, built with blinking eyes, chewing mouths, wagging tails and four independently articulated legs to hold up under close inspection from a crowd. The camels can be led along like real animals, nibbling at flowers and nudging bystanders, with themes ranging from formal dress and top hats through to Aussie bush characters or Christmas elves riding reindeer versions of the same puppets. The act has appeared at the Melbourne Commonwealth Games, Moomba Waterfest, the Melbourne Zoo and the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show, among other festivals and Christmas events.
