Cassawarrior has spent months at a time digging for rare Afro and tropical records in East and West Africa and the Caribbean, going in person rather than buying online, and the collection reflects it. Before that he was a bass player, touring with Ethiopian greats Mulatu Astatke, Mahmoud Ahmed and Alemayehu Eshete. He is a Glastonbury Festival regular. Melbourne adopted him for a while and he is now back home in Aotearoa, but the connection to this city remains.
