Castles And Canyons

Castles & Canyons came together in Perth's northern suburbs over a shared love of songs that have stuck around, from jazz standards through to recent chart material. The core is three players: two vocalists and a guitarist, with keys, bass and percussion added when a room needs more. Male vocal is covered too, since the guitarist sings. Their sound leans indie folk against contemporary jazz phrasing, with the harmony work doing the heavy lifting over acoustic guitar. Repertoire runs from R&B and soul into pop, blues and folk, and requests are welcome. Bridget sings and plays with Perth pop folk outfit Simone & Girlfunkle. Todd is a WAAPA graduate and a 2006 WAM award winner. Christie trained in contemporary vocals in Sydney and has worked as a backing vocalist in rooms the size of Acer Arena. Todd and Christie both teach music across Perth.
