An Olympic gold medal in Rugby Sevens sits alongside an AFLW career for Chloe Dalton, one of a small group of Australians to reach elite level in more than one sport. A start in the WNBL for the Sydney Uni Flames on a Sydney University scholarship came before a switch of codes ahead of the Rio Olympics, making the Australian Rugby Sevens squad in time for the 2016 Games and helping the team win gold. The Shawn Mackay Medal for the code's best player followed in 2017, alongside an OAM. AFLW came next, debuting for Carlton in 2019 and playing in that year's Grand Final in front of 53,000 fans before a Club Best and Fairest runner-up finish in 2020, later moving to the GWS Giants. A qualified physiotherapist by training, a media career has since grown covering Rugby Australia for Stan, appearing on Channel Nine's Sunday Sport and hosting a podcast, with a book published in 2023 on the rise of women's sport in Australia.
