Chris Mayne

An exhibition match in South Africa against Carlton was an early Fremantle appearance for Chris Mayne for the Fremantle Dockers in 2008, the start of a run that reached 172 games and 196 goals before signing with Collingwood as a free agent at the end of 2016. Retirement came at the close of the 2021 season having played 248 games between the two clubs, across 19 finals and two Grand Finals, and Fremantle's leading goalkicker title was held in 2011. Coaching followed, starting at Trinity College before a stint on South Fremantle's WAFL coaching panel that ended in a premiership, before he joined the Fremantle Dockers coaching panel ahead of the 2026 season. The Little Mayne Academy, a football coaching program for children from kindergarten to year six, is also owned and run, backed by Level 2 and 3 coaching accreditations and a Diploma of Sport.
