Old-school dance energy meets modern house and disco in Cruz Day's sets, built out of Fortitude Valley with an eye on groove over spectacle. The approach leans on familiar tracks as a way in, then works underground and lesser-known cuts alongside them so a crowd gets pulled somewhere new without losing the thread. Rhythm and closeness on the floor matter more here than volume, and championing music that doesn't usually get a spotlight runs through the whole set. That balance between paying respect to dance music's history and pushing into newer territory holds regardless of how big or small the room is.
