Dan Barnett

Classic swing built around trombone and voice is the core of Dan Barnett's act, backed by a big band drawn from some of the country's leading players. Original arrangements sit alongside reworked standards, Don't Get Around Much Anymore and The Point of No Return among them, given a fresh reading rather than played straight. Barnett studied under senior musicians in Australia and the United States before a career that brought guest appearances with Dragon, Jimmy Barnes and The Gotham City Horns, and shared stages with James Morrison, Tommy Emmanuel and The Whitlams. He has also taken featured stage roles in the Australian productions of Buddy and Testimony: The Legend of Charlie Parker. The big band performs at formal and informal events.
