Archer was a semi-finalist in the National Jazz Awards in 2006 and released a debut album of original material, Secret World, in 2004. The 2013 APRA/MJFF composer commission led to a performance of Drunken Taxicabs of Absolute Reality at the Melbourne Jazz Fringe Festival. Archer performs with a trio featuring Ben Robertson on bass and Kieran Rafferty on drums.
