David Quirk

A Melbourne stand-up comedian and actor with live shows performed across Australia and the UK. Shaking Hands With Danger, a storytelling show built around infidelity, took out the Piece of Wood Award at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2013, before seasons in London and Edinburgh followed. Career, Suicide came next in 2014, then Thrasher in 2015, staged inside the skateboard shop that has been Quirk's long-term workplace outside comedy, and Approaching Perfection in 2016. The Incident, co-created and performed with Sam Simmons, took out 2010's Golden Gibbo Award at the Melbourne Comedy Festival, and Bunny, written by Benjamin Cittadini and performed with Craig Peade, won the Innovation in Theatre Award at Melbourne Fringe in 2011. Cowboy Mouth premiered at the Comedy Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe in 2017 and was filmed for ABC's Comedy Next Gen the following year.
