Dean Nash

Dean Nash is a Western Sydney singer, songwriter, screenwriter and theatre maker. The musical path started in alt rock and punk bands and mellowed into folk and singer songwriter territory, though musical theatre never left the picture: he co wrote the 2021 concept musical The Breaths In Between with Naarm production company 11 O'Clock Theatre. His most recent work, Dean, Don't Dance, is an award winning hour of radically accessible musical comedy cabaret about making a life in the performing arts as a disabled person, most recently staged at the Old Fitz Theatre in January 2026. Recordings include the 2021 EP In The Autumn and the 2023 single Leather Wallet. Storytelling is the through line, and the comparisons that come back are Ben Folds, Ben Lee and Tim Minchin. Outside performing he teaches singing at the Nash Vocal Institute and works as access coordinator at multi arts organisation Brand X.
