Diesel

Blues has run through Mark Lizotte's music since the earliest days performing as Diesel, first fronting Johnny Diesel and the Injectors before launching a platinum-selling, ARIA-winning solo career. Short Cool Ones, a 1996 blues record made with Chris Wilson, marked a turn toward rootsier material, and a period recording in New York produced an album released under Mark's own name. Back in Australia, the ARIA-nominated live album Singled Out pushed Diesel further toward a live-first approach in the studio, carried on through Coathanger Antennae and Days Like These, plus live releases The First Fifteen, Diesel & Strings and The Four Corners Live. Project Blues Saturday Suffering Fools, released in 2009, brought Mark's father Hank and brothers Mike and Brian into the studio on horns for a family record built around the blues that shaped the catalogue from the start.
