Genre hopping is the whole approach here, and DJ Derm does it deliberately rather than because the crate ran out. One set can take in trance, UK garage, techno and deep house, moving between them fast enough that the crowd stops trying to predict where it goes next. The basslines run deep. The footwork is quick. It is a livelier proposition than a night locked into one sound, and the floor tends to stay busy because of it.
