DJ Sam T / Live Horn Player

DJ Sam T combines live trumpet with DJ tracks in Perth. Familiar melodies get pulled out and emphasised on the horn, and fresh ones get improvised on top, so the mix never sits still for long. A Bachelor of Music in jazz from the WA Academy of Performing Arts forms part of his training. His performance credits include shows with Fred Wesley and The Cape Town Opera, a run alongside Drapht, and work with Hugh Jackman, John Paul Young, Faith Prince, Anthony Warlow and Bert Newton. FRINGE WORLD Festival, The Ellington Jazz Club and The Aviary Perth feature among his performance settings, and his roles have included announcer and DJ for Volleyball WA and Volleyball Australia. His work also includes session and studio recordings.
