Duo Faun

Flute and harp is an unusual pairing and Duo Faun make the most of it. Maddi and Bart are classically trained, both degree holders, both teaching privately and freelancing with orchestras alongside this. The flute runs amplified through effects, which turns what could be a straight recital sound into something more ambient and open. Programmes move between classical repertoire, improvisation, modern covers and folk tunes. They play weddings and events out of Brisbane, and also take work in aged care and hospitals, where the quieter end of what they do earns its place.
