Electric Ginger

Greg Townley performs and records as Electric Ginger, a disco-pop project based in Far Meadow on the NSW South Coast that sits between synth-driven pop and guitar-infused nostalgia. A rock background feeds into the sound alongside a strong pull toward electronic production, and Townley writes, records and produces from his own farm studio, playing much of the instrumentation before bringing in a small circle of collaborating musicians for the finished tracks. Live shows lean theatrical and high-energy. Since a self-titled 2019 debut, a second album, It's a Yes from Me, has followed, with the video for single Use Me picking up MTV rotation and Townley's songwriting also appearing on Australian television. Festival credits include Fairgrounds, SurfLife and Distilled.
