Tasmanian born jazz vocalist and composer with a soulful, commanding sound. Elly Hoyt has three albums out, Elly Hoyt, Oranges and Sunshine, and The Composer's Voice: Celebrating Australian Women Composers, which drew acclaim from All About Jazz, Limelight and The Music Trust. She is a Bell Award winner and held the Generations in Jazz Vocal Scholarship, and studied at the New England Conservatory in Boston. She has sung for King Charles and Camilla, supported Kenny Barron, and toured major festivals and venues overseas. Based in Hobart.
