English Gents is a circus act from Melbourne, Victoria.
Two performers in character as English gentlemen build an act around acrobatic strength and balance, played out while sipping tea or reading a newspaper . A shorter, tightly staged version runs six and a half or nine and a half minutes; a longer twenty-minute version adds verbal comedy to the physical work. Both versions keep the dry, understated English wit running through the balancing and lifting, with the comedy building toward a cheeky finish rather than a straight display of strength.
