About this act
Vardos perform Eastern European folk music shaped by direct study with traditional and Roma musicians. Founded by Alana Hunt, the Melbourne group also includes accordionist Sofia Chapman and multi-instrumentalist Kirri Buchler. Their experience includes international touring and performances at the Edinburgh Fringe, alongside Australian television appearances. The musicians have learnt repertoire in Hungary and several regions of Romania, bringing that detailed musical study into an animated live presentation.
