About this act
Percussionist Dave Kemp leads Latin Vibe from Currumbin Valley, placing vibraphone and marimba at the centre of the ensemble. Bass, percussion, woodwinds and drums can join those instruments in a larger band. The music draws on Cuban, Brazilian and Argentinian traditions alongside jazz, with arrangements of pieces associated with Tito Puente and Antonio Carlos Jobim. Dave brings performing experience from Australia, Europe and the United States to the group.
