Klezmeritis

Violinist Ernic Gruner, accordionist Phil Carroll and double bassist Ron Hansen form Klezmeritis. The Melbourne band plays Jewish wedding and celebration music, moving from quieter ceremonial pieces to fast dance tunes. Their work includes chuppahs, horas and receptions, as well as concerts and roving performances. Larger functions can add singers or instruments such as clarinet and drums. The trio's core sound draws on klezmer traditions while leaving space for the different stages of a celebration.
