Yalla bring Middle Eastern music and dance together in a Melbourne ensemble. Accordion, oud, ney and percussion form part of the instrumental mix, with singing and dance alongside the musicians. Their repertoire draws on Egyptian folk and classical styles as well as music from Turkey, Persia and North Africa. The group perform on concert stages and as an acoustic roving act, with a history of appearances at Australian folk festivals.
