Yuval Ashkar is an oud player, percussionist and composer based in Bentleigh East. His music draws on Arabic, Turkish, Persian and Jewish traditions, informed by study with oud players in several styles. He performs with the band Camoon and directs the Arabian Nights dinner show, combining instrumental music, songs and dance. Yuval also teaches oud and Middle Eastern percussion, bringing that technical knowledge into his compositions and performances.
